11 Home Remedies For Boils

Share

Boils are skin infections caused by the bacteria called staphylococcus aureus. Some common symptoms include redness and swelling, severe pain (especially pus-filled boils) and itchiness. If several boils have appeared in cluster, it can be a serious condition and you are advised to consult a doctor for the same. In general, the following remedies can be very effective in treating boils naturally.

Natural Cure For Boils

Warm, Moist Compress

Apply a soft washcloth soaked in warm water to the boils. Use this remedy at least 4-5 times a day. It relieves itchiness and pain and helps in faster treatment of boils.

Castor Oil

Soak a clean cotton ball in castor oil and dab the affected areas gently. Besides relieving redness and swelling, it will also help in drawing the pus out, which will eventually speed up the healing process.

Garlic

Crush a fresh clove of garlic and mix some water to form a garlic paste. Apply the paste to the affected skin areas. Leave it for 15 minutes and then wash off. It will help the boils to ripe faster. You can get rid of boils within just 3-4 days provided you apply garlic paste at least once daily.

Lime

Rubbing the affected areas gently with the open side of lime slices can be very helpful in reducing and removing boils.

Tomato

You can also cut a tomato in thin slices and place them on the areas affected with boils. Leave the slices for ten to fifteen minutes. Then, wash off with cold water.

Cucumber

Cucumber slices can also be used in place of tomato slices. Both the remedies are equally effective.

Warm Tea Bags

Using warm tea bgs as a compress on the affected areas is another proven way to treat boils naturally. However, you should not overdo it. 10-15 minutes should suffice.

Turmeric With Warm Mustard Oil Or Ghee

Mix some warm mustard oil or warm ghee in turmeric powder to prepare a paste. Apply it to the boils gently and then bandage those areas. Use this remedy at bedtime and leave it overnight. Just three to four days of this turmeric paste application can heal boils to a great extent.

Turmeric With Warm Milk

As soon as you notice the first sign of boils, you should drink one tsp. of turmeric powder with a cup of warm milk or water. Use this remedy two times a day and boils will disappear within two days before getting worse.

If boils have already appeared and the infection has already spread, drinking this turmeric decoction will cause the boils to ripe and burst faster. Even if you do not try anything else, the regular use of just this turmeric remedy will be enough to get rid of boils within 3-7 days.

Bitter Gourd Juice

Mix one teaspoon of the juice extracted from bitter gourd in one cup of normal purified water. Stir it well and drink it on an empty stomach, the first thing in the morning. It cleanses your bowel, makes your skin healthier from inside out and fights against the boils-causing bacterial infections.

Do Something That Should Make You Sweat

When you sweat, your skin flushes out toxins faster. Taking a steam bath or doing exercises for an extended period are some of the healthy ways to make you sweat. You can take your normal bath after that.

When pus begins to come out of the boils, you should clean it immediately using a cotton ball soaked in warm water. Then, wash your face with cold water and a mild anti-bacterial soap.
