Alcohol, spices, tomatoes, citric acid containing fruits, sweets, chocolates, and caffeine should be avoided as they can increase the chances of this disease. Vitamin C and citrus foods are also known to irritate the bladder; therefore they should also be minimized and eliminated from your daily diet. If these items are not eaten for a few weeks, the symptoms will not aggravate and the healing process shall begin.


Foods To Eat

In such periods, organically grown food should be eaten. Vegetables apart from tomatoes and sauces make excellent choices. Milk and eggs are good but cheese should be avoided. Wheat bread, oat bread, rice bread should be chosen.

Fruits that are citric should be tried, especially blueberries and pears for beginners. Later, papayas, pineapple and mangoes can also be eaten. Fresh meat and lean protein is good but preservatives should be counted, especially salami. Quercetin And Bromelain

Quercetin is derived from a plant named bioflavonoid. It helps in the restriction of the release of histamine. Bromelain, which is an enzyme derived from pineapples should be combined with quercetin in order to get relief from the pain and get complete healing from interstitial cystitis.


Flaxseeds

The consumption of flaxseeds helps in relieving any inflammation. They are rich in fatty acids and according to researchers, they have bought about inflammatory changes wherever a deficiency of fatty acids have been observed. They are used by many today and are known for its beneficial elements.

Smoking aggravates the inflammatory condition of those who are affected with interstitial cystitis. Therefore, it should be completely stopped in order to overcome this disease.
