Share

Scalp psoriasis is a very annoying and embarrassing skin disorder, characterized by itchy, flaky, silvery, scaly, dry and red patches on scalp. Though the exact causes are not known, there are certain factors that are believed to be responsible for this condition, such as environmental factors, weak immune system and genetic disposition. Following are some of the best remedies to cure scalp psoriasis naturally.

Natural Cure for Scalp Psoriasis

Fish Oil

Massage the psoriasis patches on your scalp gently with fish oil. Wear a shower cap and keep the application covered for around 5-6 hours. Then, wash it off with lukewarm water. To get rid of scalp psoriasis completely, use this remedy once daily, continuously for four weeks.

Dead Sea Salt

Mix some dead sea salt in a bathtub filled with warm water. Soak in it for 15-20 minutes. Alternatively, you can prepare a paste by mixing some warm water in 2 tbsp. of dead sea salt. Apply this paste to the psoriasis patches. Both the remedies reduce inflammation, keep your skin hydrated and fight against the infection.

Vinegar

Mix one cup of apple cider vinegar with equal quantity of warm water. Soak a soft cotton washcloth into the resulting solution and apply it to the affected areas on your scalp. After 15 minutes, wash your hair with a mild conditioner. This remedy is very helpful in relieving itchiness and dandruff flakes caused by scalp psoriasis.

Olive Oil

Add 2 tbsp. of olive oil in 2 cups of milk. Wash your hair and scalp gently with this solution. Alternatively, you can massage your scalp directly with warm olive oil. Both the remedies relieve itchiness, redness and dryness associated with scalp psoriasis disease. Olive oil is a wonderful natural moisturizer and it also carries anti-inflammatory properties. This way, it first softens the dry patches on your scalp and then helps in reducing psoriatic plaque.

Coconut Oil

Apply a tiny amount of warm coconut oil on psoriasis patches. Rinse it off after 15-20 minutes.

Aloe Vera Gel

You can extract gel from aloe vera leaves by splitting the leaves open. Alternatively, you can buy a jar of aloe vera gel from a health food store. Apply the gel gently to the itchy, red patches caused by psoriasis. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo after half an hour. It is one of the most effective natural remedies to clear psoriasis plaques from the scalp.

Tea Tree Oil

Massage your dry and itchy scalp with tea tree oil. For better results, you can also consider mixing sesame oil with tea tree oil. In either case, you should wear a shower cap to cover the application. Do it at bedtime. The next morning, wash your hair and scalp thoroughly with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo.

Jajoba Oil

Jajoba oil can also be used in combination with olive oil and aloe vera to treat scalp psoriasis. Warm the mixture, apply it to your scalp and leave the application overnight. Wash your hair in the morning. For better results out of the above-mentioned natural remedies for scalp psoriasis, you should make some changes in your dietary plans also. For example, high calorie and excessive sugary foods should strictly be avoided. You should also avoid fried, oily, spicy and junk food. Increase the quantity of salads in your foods. Most importantly, drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from inside out.
