Natural Cures For Crohn’s Disease

Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory condition and is also known as “Regional Enteritis”. This problem affects the small intestine and colon and can result in bloody stools, abdominal pain, diarrhea and loss of appetite. It can also result in weight loss. Further, it can occur at any age.

The exact cause of crohn’s disease is not known. It is interesting to note that this disease is not contagious. Various natural remedies can be used to deal with the symptoms associated with crohn’s disease.


Natural Ways to Cure Crohn’s Disease

Boswellia

Boswellia can be used as a natural remedy. An individual can consume boswellia extract 3 times on a daily basis to obtain relief.

This remedy is required to be used for a period of 7 to 8 weeks for best results.


Marshmallow

Marshmallow can be used to treat the inflammation. An individual is required to consume marshmallow tea 3 to 4 times on a daily basis for obtaining the desired results. Dried marshmallow root (5 grams) can be boiled in water to prepare tea. Another option is to use the dried leaves of marshmallow. This remedy should not be used by an individual suffering from diabetes.


Turmeric

An individual can consume turmeric (1 to 2 grams) on a daily basis to get relief.

This is because turmeric contains curcumin which has anti-inflammatory properties.


Green Tea

A cup of green tea can be consumed by an individual 2 to 3 times in a day to reduce the inflammation. It is important to note that people suffering from crohn’s disease are at a higher risk of developing colon cancer. Frequent intake of green tea can also help in reducing this risk.


Papaya

Papaya contains vitamin C and vitamin B in large quantities and is antioxidant in nature.

Consumption of papaya on a daily basis can provide highly effective results. An individual can also consume papaya seeds to improve digestion.


Garlic

Garlic is a natural antibiotic. An individual can take garlic capsules 2 to 3 times on a daily basis along with the meals to heal the intestines. However, it is essential to consult a specialist before using this natural cure.


Echinacea

Echinacea can be used to reduce the inflammation associated with crohn’s disease. This remedy can help in boosting the immune system of an individual.

Daily consumption of echinacea (after obtaining permission from a consultant) may provide relief from various symptoms.


Cod Liver Oil

Cod liver oil contains omega-3 fish oil which can help in reducing the inflammation. A teaspoon of cod liver oil can be consumed on a daily basis to obtain the desired results. It is important to stop the use of this remedy if problems such as bloating, nausea or gas are experienced on a regular basis by the individual suffering from crohn’s disease.


Aloe Vera Juice

An individual can drink aloe vera juice mixed in water with each meal. Aloe vera juice can be mixed with other juices as well.

Use of this remedy can help in healing the intestines. It is advisable to use this remedy as per the instructions of a doctor.
