Various natural remedies are available to deal with the problem of dry scalp.


Natural Ways to Cure Dry Scalp

Yogurt

An individual can use plain yogurt to condition the hair and reduce dandruff. A mixture of yogurt and egg can also be rubbed on the scalp after washing the hair with a shampoo. This mixture should be completely rinsed after a period of 10 to 15 minutes to obtain best results.


Olive Oil

Warm olive oil can be massaged on the scalp on a frequent basis. This natural remedy helps in stimulating the flow of blood to the scalp. Regular use of this remedy can help in reducing the dryness and improving the quality of hair.


Vitamin E

Dry scalp can result from the deficiency of vitamin E. An individual can apply vitamin E oil on the scalp after shampooing the hair to reduce the dryness. Intake of food items containing vitamin E can also reduce the problem of dry scalp.


Apple Cider Vinegar

Application of a mixture of apple cider vinegar, water, honey and a few drops of lavender oil on the scalp can give highly effective results. It is important to keep this mixture applied for a minimum period of 60 to 90 minutes. An individual should use this remedy twice in a week for obtaining quick results.


Aloe Vera

Another natural remedy for dry scalp is aloe vera. An individual can apply aloe vera gel (1 teaspoon) on a regular basis to moisturize the scalp. Aloe vera gel should be applied at night after washing the hair and removed in the morning.


Grapefruit Seed Extract

An individual can mix grapefruit seed extract in a shampoo. Washing hair with this shampoo can help in reducing the itching and dryness.


Tea Tree Oil

Massaging the scalp with a mixture of tea tree oil (2 to 3 drops) and vegetable oil (1 tablespoon) can help in unblocking hair follicles and reducing the dryness. A solution made by mixing tea tree oil (10 to 20 drops) and baby shampoo (half cup) can be used on a daily basis till the problem is completely resolved.


Lemon

The problem of dry scalp can be treated with the application of a mixture of lemon juice and warm coconut oil. An individual should remove this mixture only after a minimum period of 60 minutes. A paste created by mixing grinded fenugreek seeds and lemon juice can be applied on the scalp for a period of 30 to 40 minutes to get the desired results.


Evening Primrose Oil

An individual can apply evening primrose oil to deal with various dry scalp symptoms such as dandruff and flakes. This natural remedy can be used every alternate day to obtain relief.
