6 Natural Cures For Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder is medically referred to as “Adhesive Capsulitis”. It is a condition characterized by pain, inflammation and stiffness in the shoulder area. A person suffering from this problem may experience difficulty in the movement of shoulder joints. The three different stages of frozen shoulder are painful, frozen and thawing.

This problem can be caused by factors such as shoulder surgery, injury, heart and lung diseases and diabetes. You can treat this medical condition with the use of different natural cures.


Natural Cures for Frozen Shoulder

Mustard Oil

You can use mustard oil to get relief from the problem. A mixture prepared by boiling crushed garlic cloves (2 to 3) in the mustard oil can be applied on the shoulder to treat the pain.

The regular application of warm mustard oil can also reduce the stiffness associated with frozen shoulder. You should allow the oil to cool down a little bit before applying it on your shoulder.


Turmeric

Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric extract can be taken to treat the problem. You can also create a paste with the use of turmeric and apply it on the shoulder to reduce the inflammation and pain. You can also increase the consumption of foods containing turmeric after obtaining permission from your doctor.


Rumatone Gold Oil

Rumatone has anti-arthritic and anti-inflammatory properties. You can massage your shoulder with rumatone gold oil to relieve the pain caused by the problem. Use of this natural remedy can also improve the joint flexibility and mobility. It can also help in reducing the inflammation and discomfort.


Hot and Cold Therapy

You can apply a warm compress on the affected area to relax the muscles. You need to keep an ice pack on your shoulder after the application of the warm compress. Use of this hot and cold therapy can help in reducing the pain in the shoulder.

A warm compress can be easily prepared by soaking a towel in warm water. You can also use a water bottle containing hot water. An ice pack can be prepared by putting a few ice cubes in a plastic bag. You can also wrap some ice cubes in a towel and use it as an ice pack.


Stretching and Strengthening Exercises

You can stretch your arm above your head for a period of 20 to 30 seconds to get relief from the pain. This exercise should be performed 2 to 3 times on a daily basis. You can also perform arm circles to relieve the discomfort caused by the problem of frozen shoulder. Use of this exercise can help in improving the blood circulation and reducing the stiffness. You can practice strengthening exercises such as outward rotation exercise, inward rotation exercise and abduction exercise to tone your muscles and reduce the frequency of the problem.


Coconut Oil

Coconut oil can also be used as a natural remedy to treat the symptoms. You can apply warm coconut oil on the affected area 3 to 4 times in a day to obtain relief from the inflammation and stiffness resulting from the problem of frozen shoulder.
