Vitamins

Vitamin C has anti-oxidant and anti-viral properties. It can improve the ability of liver to filter the toxins. Intake of vitamin E food items is also recommended. Vitamin B is essential for the normal functioning of the liver. Vitamin B can also help in removing toxins from the body.

An individual suffering from hepatitis c infection should consume vitamin B and vitamin B12 rich food items on a daily basis to obtain the desired results. Good sources of these vitamins include milk, green leafy vegetables, fish, kiwi, almonds and cereals.


Milk Thistle

Milk thistle is also referred to as “Silymarin’’. It is an anti-oxidant which can protect the liver from different types of infections. Further, it can stimulate the growth of new liver cells and improve the immune system of the body. The milk thistle powder can be boiled in water to prepare a cup of tea and consumed several times in a day to treat the liver damage caused by hepatitis C. Milk thistle should be taken after obtaining medical advice from a doctor.


Yoga

Yoga is one of the most effective natural cures for treating the infection. It can help in flushing out the toxins from the liver.

Practicing different yoga poses such as janu sirsasana, ardha navasana, plow halasana and locust salabhasana can help in the treatment of various systems associated with the problem. Yoga may also help in relieving other digestive disorders.


Ginger

Consumption of tea made by steeping ginger root in water multiple times in a day can also provide relief from the symptoms. Intake of a mixture prepared with the use of ginger, lemon or mint juice and honey on a regular basis can provide the desired results.


Aloe Vera

Hepatitis c infection can also be treated with the use of aloe vera. Aloe vera has anti-viral properties. A mixture prepared by blending fresh aloe vera pulp, apple, cucumber and lemon juice can be consumed on a daily basis.

Another option is to consume a mixture of aloe vera, carrot, orange and pineapple juice.


Diet

Spicy or fatty food items are not recommended for an individual suffering from the disease. It is essential to avoid the consumption of raw or uncooked food items to obtain quick relief from the infection. Canned or fast food items should also be excluded from the daily diet. Further, an individual is advised to avoid the consumption of items containing caffeine.
