1. Vitamins

Vitamin K can synthesize the bone protein (osteocalcin) which may help in the treatment of injured bones and muscle spasms. Intake of vitamin D is essential to absorb the calcium from the dietary sources and repair the damaged tissues. The anti-inflammatory properties of vitamin C can reduce the pain and inflammation.

Vitamin E can boost the immune system and relieve the muscle pain and soreness caused by the medical condition. These vitamins can be obtained from egg yolk, fortified milk, saltwater fish, green leafy vegetables, strawberry, wheat germ, soybean products and cheese.

2. Calcium

Intake of calcium is essential to keep the bones strong and healthy. A person should increase the consumption of calcium to control the growth of the problem. Sources of calcium include tofu, almonds, dairy products, turnip and kale.

3. Hot Water

A person can take hot water bath on a frequent basis to relieve the pain and stiffness. A hot water bottle can be wrapped in a towel and placed on the lower back area to obtain instant relief from the symptoms. The bottle should be kept applied for 20 to 30 minutes.

4. Chamomile

Chamomile is also known as “Chamaemelum Nobile’’. Intake of tea prepared with the use of chamomile flowers multiple times in a day can help in the treatment of the problem. The use of hot chamomile compress can also provide effective results. A mixture of chamomile and carrier oil can also be applied on the affected area to obtain relief.

5. Turmeric

Turmeric can alleviate the symptoms associated with the problem of herniated disc. Intake of liquid extract obtained from raw turmeric can reduce the discomfort.

A poultice prepared with the use of turmeric powder, green flour and mustard oil can be applied on the affected area to get the desired results. Application of a mixture of turmeric powder and onion extract can cure the pain and inflammation of the joints and muscles.

6. Willow Bark

Willow bark has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and astringent properties. Regular consumption of willow bark extract can provide relief from the acute pain in the lower back area. Further, it can help in reducing the swelling and inflammation. This remedy should be used under the supervision of a doctor.

7. Ice

A person can wrap some ice cubes in a small towel and place it on the affected area to get instant relief from the pain and swelling. This ice pack should be removed after 20 to 30 minutes. This natural cure should be used 4 to 5 times in a day to get the desired results.
