The problem of indigestion is also known as ‘’Dyspepsia’’. An individual may experience discomfort in the upper abdomen area during or after having meals as a result of this problem. Common causes include frequent intake of spicy or greasy food items, stress, lack of physical activities and smoking.
Gallstones, swelling of the pancreas, stomach ulcers or gastritis may also result in this problem. Symptoms of indigestion include abdominal pain, nausea, bloating, gas and so on. Various natural remedies can be used for treating indigestion.
Consumption of a mixture made by adding apple cider vinegar and honey to a glass of hot water before sleeping on a regular basis can provide the desired results.
Fresh ginger (grated) can be consumed before breakfast. A mixture of ginger and lemon juice can be consumed after each meal to improve digestion. Intake of a cup of ginger tea several times in a day can also provide effective results.
Lemon is another natural remedy. Lemon juice and honey can be added to a glass of warm water to prepare a tonic and consumed 2 to 3 times in a day. This tonic should be consumed after having meals.
Drinking a mixture prepared with the use of lemon juice, bishop weed, seed powder, black salt and water on a daily basis can also provide the desired results. Lemon can also help in reducing the acidity.
Exercises such as walking, swimming or playing golf can help in improving digestion. An individual can exercise on a daily basis to obtain relief from various symptoms.
Basil tea can be consumed on a frequent basis to get relief from indigestion. Another option is to consume a paste created by mixing basil leaves (grinded) and salt with yogurt.A mixture of crushed basil leaves and rock salt can also be swallowed with water on a daily basis.
Aloe vera juice (1 tablespoon) can be consumed in the morning (empty stomach) and at night (before sleeping) to obtain the desired results. A combination of aloe vera and pomegranate juice can also be taken multiple times. Aloe vera gel can be added to coconut milk and consumed. A mixture of aloe vera gel and myrrh oil can also be used in the treatment.
Buttermilk is one of the most effective natural remedies. Regular consumption of buttermilk can neutralize the acid which may result in indigestion.Drinking a mixture prepared by blending buttermilk, black pepper powder, crushed curry or coriander leaves and salt several times in a day can provide the effective results.
Indian gooseberry juice can be consumed every morning before breakfast. A drink prepared by mixing Indian gooseberry juice, nutmeg powder, ginger juice and honey can also be consumed. Another alternative is to drink a combination of Indian gooseberry juice containing aloe vera pulp (1 teaspoon). Raw Indian gooseberries can also be used to cure the symptoms. Consumption of dried Indian gooseberry powder with water after each meal can also provide relief.
