Share

Vitiligo is a skin disorder. It is also referred to as “Leukoderma” and can result in the formation of irregular white patches on the skin. This problem can occur at any age and can affect any part of the body.

Excessive sun exposure and mental stress can trigger the symptoms associated with this problem. It is also found in people suffering from autoimmune diseases such as hyperthyroidism, alopecia areata and so on. Various types of natural cures can be used in the treatment of this skin condition.

Natural Cures for Vitiligo

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is frequently used in the treatment of different types of skin conditions. You can massage a few drops of tea tree oil on your skin with the use of a cotton ball after applying a non-irritating facial cleanser. This oil should be removed after it has dried. It is essential to use this natural cure 2 to 3 times in a day for obtaining complete relief from the symptoms.

Tea tree oil can also be mixed with almond oil and applied on the affected areas to treat and moisturize the skin. You can add a few drops of tea tree oil to a mixture of lavender and rosehip oil to create a natural skin cleanser and apply this combination on a daily basis for treating the problem of vitiligo.

Turmeric

Another effective natural remedy is turmeric. Turmeric can be mixed with mustard oil and applied on the affected areas to remove the patches. It is essential to apply this paste 2 to 3 times in a day to obtain the desired results within a short time frame.

Vitamin B12

Intake of items such as liver, clams, trout and yogurt can help you in obtaining vitamin B12. You can also consume fortified breakfast cereals to get effective results.

Vitamin C

Intake of vitamin C is recommended for a person suffering from the problem. You can consume citrus fruits such as orange, kiwi, strawberry and cantaloupe to obtain this vitamin. Vegetables rich in vitamin C include tomato, broccoli and potato.

Ginkgo Biloba

You can use ginkgo biloba as a natural remedy. It is frequently prescribed in the treatment of vitiligo because of its anti-oxidant and immune boosting properties.
