Natural Treatments for Bladder Cancer

Share

Rapid advancements in science and medicine have brought about many positive changes in the field of healthcare; but cancer still remains one of the most dreaded and major causes of deaths across the globe. If detected in the early stages, it is easy to treat cancer. But due to its asymptomatic nature, if cancer goes undetected for a while, it may progress to an extent when even surgery and other treatment options may fail.

It is at that time, when natural treatments for cancer prove to be worthy and add a few extra years to the life of the patient. Bladder cancer, another common type of cancer, may occur due to different reasons. Supplementing your conventional therapies with these natural treatments can prove to be much more efficient in treating bladder cancer than trying any of the therapies alone.

Best Natural Treatments for Bladder Cancer

Water Therapy

Water therapy, also known as hydrotherapy, can be quite beneficial in the treatment of bladder cancer, especially if it is detected in the early stages.

Stick to a Healthy Diet

What you eat has a great impact on your health. Eating more fresh and natural foods like fruits and vegetables can give your immune system a good boost, thereby preventing the body against a majority of infections and other health problems. They provide the body enough nutrients like vitamins and minerals, thereby preventing any nutritional deficiency diseases.

For bladder cancer, some specific foods are thought to be highly efficient in the treatment of the condition and prevent the cancer cells from growing and metastasizing (spreading to other parts of the body through body fluids like blood and lymph). These include citrus fruits like grapes and cranberry, which contain a compound known as limonene, which block the formation of the growth of a tumor.

Tomatoes are also thought to help in treating bladder cancer by its antioxidant action and lycopene content which targets the cancerous cells. Spinach and other green leafy vegetables are rich sources of vitamin E, which is thought to reduce the risk of bladder cancer by 42%. Other foods like gingko biloba, cabbage, mistletoe, parsley, sprouts, green beans and carrots are thought to target cancer cells in the bladder and reduce the severity of the symptoms associated with bladder cancer.

Amino Acid Therapy

Amino acid therapy for bladder cancer is a comparatively new therapy and is thought to treat bladder cancer by a specific action. During the course of this treatment, the patient is advised to stop the consumption of amino acids and proteins in the diet. This is because amino acids are thought to help growth and division of cancer cells, and starving the body of these amino acids cuts off the nutrient supply to the cancer cells, thus stopping them from growing.

Supplements

Some dietary supplements like vitamin E and vitamin A are also thought to help the immune system fight against cancer cells and stop the disease from progressing.

Naturopathic Treatments

Naturopaths implement the use of natural treatments like mud packs, positive thinking, exercise and yoga to treat bladder cancer. They also help reduce the toxic effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. These treatments also reduce the severity of the symptoms associated with bladder cancer including pain, spasms and nausea.
