9 Treatments For Dark Circles

The problem of dark circles is also referred to as ‘’Periorbital Dark Circles’’. This problem is characterized by dark blemishes around the eyes.

Dark circles are generally caused by factors such as lack of sleep, dehydration, allergic reaction, anemia, heredity, liver disease, smoking and consumption of alcohol. Dark circles can be reduced with the use of different natural treatments.


Natural Treatments For Dark Circles

Potato

A person can apply raw potato (grated) on the eyelids and under the eyes for 15 to 20 minutes several times in a day to reduce the dark blemishes.

Another alternative is to place the cotton balls soaked in potato juice on the eyes for a period of 20 to 30 minutes and wash the eyes with cold water.


Almonds

A natural paste created by blending almonds and milk can be applied on the eyes for 10 to 15 minutes on a daily basis to deal with the problem. A person can massage the affected area with almond oil before sleeping to get rid of the dark circles. Regular consumption of almonds (5 to 8) can also help in the treatment.


Tomato and Lemon

Application of a combination of tomato and lemon juice on the affected area multiple times in a week can reduce the blemishes.

A person can also drink a mixture of tomato and lemon juice, mint leaves and salt on a frequent basis to get the desired results.


Turmeric Powder

A mixture of turmeric powder and buttermilk can be massaged on the affected area to reduce the problem. Turmeric powder can be mixed with pineapple juice and applied on the dark circles on a regular basis. Application of a paste made with the use of turmeric powder and coconut oil can provide good results.


Mint Leaves

Application of a paste created by grinding mint leaves (10 to 15) on the affected area for 15 minutes on a daily basis can help in eliminating the dark circles. This treatment should be performed for a period of 15 to 20 days to get the desired results. Fresh mint leaves (crushed) can be mixed with rose water and applied on the eyes to treat the problem.


Cucumber

Cucumber is another effective natural treatment. Fresh cucumber slices can be placed on the eyes for 10 to 15 minutes on a regular basis to get rid of the problem. Cotton balls dipped in cucumber juice can also be placed on the affected area. Application of a mixture of cucumber and lemon juice can also provide effective results.


Tea Bag

A person can place a cold tea bag on each eye for 10 to 15 minutes on a frequent basis to obtain the desired results. Chamomile and green tea bags can also be used in the treatment.


Milk Cream

Milk cream mixed with castor oil can be used to massage the affected area multiple times in a week to reduce the dark circles. Application of a Mixture created by blending milk cream and rose petals can also provide relief.


Sleep

It is essential to sleep for 7 to 8 hours on a daily basis to treat the problem of dark circles.
