Natural Treatments For Hair Loss

Share

The lives lead by us now is much more complicated that it was say, 50 years ago. The amount of stress, pollution and other damaging factors we encounter and the lesser time we have to look into the needs of the body easily makes us prone to damage.

Hair loss is a common problem affecting almost everyone resulting into bald patches or nil volume of hair. There are some natural ways to treat the body and scalp and prevent receding of the hair line or that of hair loss altogether.

How To Treat Hair Loss

Massage To Tackle Hair Loss

The best way to tackle hair fall problem is to massage your hair and scalp for atleast 10 minutes a day. Massages stimulate circulation of blood and restores health to your hair and scalp.

Gently warm coconut, almond, castor oil or olive oil and massage your head lightly with them. You can mix all the oils and apply them together to get better results.

Add the capsule contents of a Vitamin E tablet to the oil, this helps to add the nutrient and make the hair healthier and stronger. You must also massage the scalp after washing your hair to activate the sebaceous glands and increases circulation.

Hair Brushing

You should brush your hair regularly but never vigorously so as to cause any kind of damage and hair fall. If you’re prone to tangling, use a potion to detangle and then brush through the hair.

Never brush wet hair. Hair tends to be really weak when wet and brushing will easily pluck them off from their roots. Let your hair dry naturally.

Hair Hygiene

It is really important to maintain good hair hygiene. Dandruff, lice, itchy scalp cause hair fall and must be dealt with in case you have them. Shampoo well and wash your hair thoroughly to wash away dirt, grime and the shampoo as well so as to unclog the follicles.

Good Bowel Movement

Many people have associated hair loss with an unclean stomach. Make sure you have a clean stomach. For this eat lots of fibers and whole grains. You may also use laxatives to induce good bowel movements. A regular bowel cleansing regime is also beneficial for the body.

Change Your Diet

Make a change in your regular diet and you’ll notice a massive change in your hair fall numbers. Increase the amount of fresh green vegetables, fruits, soybeans, milk, yoghurt, wheat germ, whole grains and nuts in your diet.

This adds all the essential nutrients to make the hair stronger from the roots.
Make sure you take food that is rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin B complex, Sulfur, magnesium and zinc. Decrease the amount of alcohol intake.

You may drink 1/3 rd cup of aloe vera juice daily for about 2 months to stop hair fall. Another recipe to induce new stronger hair growth is to drink a mixture of carrot, spinach, alfalfa and lettuce juices.

Herbs

Some herbs help improve blood circulation, clean the scalp and stimulate hair growth as well. You may use herbs such as horsetail, stinging nettles, rosemary or birch to massage the hair and stimulate new hair growth.

Licorice is good for hair control. Application of a paste made with licorice and milk to bald patches induces growth of new hair and stops hair fall. Herbal teas made from burdock are also good for the scalp and dry hair.

Neem Paste

Neem is scientifically known as Azdirachta indica. It is known for its anti bacterial properties. Apply a paste of neem to your scalp and washes away with mild shampoo. This not only controls hair fall directly but also cleans the scalp and removes dandruff, lice or other scalp problems that maybe causing hair fall.

Fenugreek Paste

Soak fenugreek seeds overnight and then make a paste. Apply this on your scalp and let it dry before washing it off. Follow this regularly for 1 month to treat hair loss problem.

Herbal Hair Shampoo

You can make your own herbal shampoo that not only cleans your hair and aids in controlling hair loss but also does not add any unwanted chemicals to the skin. Mix equal portions Indian Gooseberry (amla), Sapindus mucorosai (reetha) and Concinna (shikakai).

Boil this together in 1 liter of water, slowly reducing the volume to about half to that of the original one. This can be used as an herbal shampoo and can effectively treat hair fall. This remedy also strengthens the hair and gives it shine.

Indian Gooseberry

Indian gooseberry is also locally known as amla. It is really good for the hair. It prevents hair loss, hair thinning, gives shine and bounce to the hair and solves scalp problems and can be ingested or applied externally.

If you want to ingest it, you can eat some gooseberry early in the morning with some warm water. For application purposes, mix 3 tablespoons of amla with 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and add some water to make a smooth paste.

Apply this on your hair and let it dry. Wash off thoroughly with mild shampoo. Another way to use amla is to boil few gooseberry pieces in coconut oil and use the oil to massage your scalp.

Egg Yolk

Eggs are really good for the hair. Apply a mixture of some honey and eggs to the scalp and hair. Leave it on for about 1 hour and then wash. Honey is extremely good for conditioning and moisturizing purposes and eggs strengthen the roots besides giving gloss and volume to the hair.

Henna Leaves

I discovered a very old recipe to stop hair fall. Hat some mustard oil and chuck in some fresh henna leaves. Heat it till the leaves have withered completely or have a burnt look. When done. Filter the oil and massage onto your scalp. Do this regularly to get rid of hair fall problems.

Apple Cider Vinegar And Sage

Make some fresh sage tea. Add equal portions of vinegar and sage tea and use this to rinse your hair everyday. This concoction stops further hair fall and induces growth of new hair.
