10 Treatments For Vitiligo

Vitiligo is also known as “Leucoderma’’. This medical condition is characterized by irregular white patches on the skin. It is caused by factors such as autoimmune diseases, destruction of pigment-forming cells, stress, sunburn and exposure to certain chemicals. This problem can also affect the eyelids and hair. The use of different types of natural treatments can provide relief from the problem of vitiligo.


Natural Treatments for Vitiligo

Wild Duckweed

The juice extracted from wild duckweed can be applied on the patches multiple times in a day for a period of 1 month to obtain the desired results. Consumption of a mixture of wild duckweed and honey after each meal can also help in the treatment.


Red Clay and Ginger

  A mixture of red clay and ginger juice can be applied on the affected parts of the body on a daily basis to treat the skin condition.


Radish Seeds

A paste prepared by mixing radish seed powder and vinegar can be applied on the affected area to reduce the patches. Application of a mixture of radish seed powder and lemon juice on the patches can also provide effective results.


Psoralea Corylifolia

Psoralea corylifolia seeds can be soaked in ginger juice for 3 days and grinded to create a natural paste. This paste should be consumed with a glass of milk on a daily basis for a minimum period of 2 months to cure vitiligo. Another option is to soak a mixture of psoralea corylifolia and tamarind seeds in water for 5 days. This mixture should be grinded and directly applied on the white patches.


Sesame

A paste prepared by mixing sesame seed and turmeric powder with water can be applied on the affected area on a frequent basis to get rid of the skin condition. Application of a mixture of sesame seed oil, carrot juice and fenugreek powder can reduce the patches.


Turmeric

The antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric can help in dealing with various skin disorders. Consumption of turmeric powder with a cup of warm milk 2 times on a daily basis can provide effective results. A mixture of turmeric powder and mustard oil can be rubbed on the patches to deal with the problem.


Basil

Basil is curative in nature. A mixture of boiled basil leaves and vinegar can be applied on the patches for 2 to 3 hours on a daily basis to increase the production of melanocyte in the skin and cure the symptoms associated with vitiligo.


Goosefoot Vegetable

Regular application of goosefoot vegetable juice on the affected area for a period of 2 months can provide relief from the problem.


Papaya

Papaya can stimulate melanin production and prevent the growth of the skin condition. A ripe papaya can be mashed and applied on the patches. The juice extracted from papaya can also be applied on the blemishes. Another alternative is to consume papaya fruit on a daily basis.


Indian Gooseberry

A paste made by mixing Indian gooseberry, catechu and honey can be applied on the affected area multiple times in a week to stimulate the production of melanocyte and reduce the patches.
