It can be consumed in the form of infusion, capsule or extract.

Consume two hundred fifty milligrams of concentrated milk thistle along with one hundred forty milligrams of silymarin on daily basis. Take this herb in the form of tablet as one tablet of two hundred milligrams for two times in a day. It can also be consumed in the form of tincture as one part of it in five parts of water taken as five drops at once.


Licorice

Glycyrrhizin contained in the herb is beneficial in treating hepatitis C. It is a derivative of licorice root and is used to sweeten the food. Do not consume it for more than two hundred milligrams per day. It is useful in preventing liver cancer among hepatitis C patients. Root of licorice herb contains an active component that helps in treating hepatitis C. It is useful in curing liver cancer and improving the functioning of liver.

It can also be combined with other medicinal herbs that are beneficial for liver enzymes. Care should be taken while consuming this herb as it can lead to many side effects like high blood pressure, water retention etc. Tea prepared from licorice can also be helpful in treating hepatitis C. Drinking this tea as two cups per week provide better relief.


Dandelion

The herb is helpful in reducing the symptoms of hepatitis C. It reduces constipation and liver congestion. It also acts as a diuretic and helps in preventing retention of fluid. Prepare coffee by using roots or leaves of this herb. It can also be consumed in the form of tablet or tincture. A combination of both leaves and roots of this herb can be used for preparing tablet and tincture.


Burdock

It can be used in combination with dandelion that helps in treating the problems related to liver. It is also useful for the treatment of skin problems and detoxification of liver. Prepare a combination as three parts of dandelion with one part of burdock. It is also available in the form of tablet in health stores. Pregnant women and diabetic patients should avoid consuming this herb.


Ginseng

The herb can be very useful in boosting up the immune system and treating the liver problems. It does not have direct effect in treating hepatitis C and causes side effects like decreasing blood sugar and increasing risk of bleeding. It is easily available at health stores and can be consumed in the form of tea on daily basis. Siberian ginseng is also helpful for the treatment of hepatitis C.

It acts as an adaptogen and reduces stress levels. One to two capsules of Siberian ginseng herb can be consumed for two times in a day. It can also be consumed in the form of tablet. It should not be used by pregnant women or those suffering from hypertension.


Turmeric

It should not be used by those people who are suffering from stomach ulcer, bile duct obstruction or excessive stomach acid.


Artichoke

It is beneficial for the treatment of liver problems. It detoxifies the liver and helps in improving digestion. Consume the herb in the form of tablet, tincture or capsule. It can also be consumed in the form of dried organic powder. Those having blockage in ball gladder caused by stones should not consume this herb. Globe and Jerusalem artichokes can be used  for treating hepatitis C.


Astragalus

Root of this herb is effective in stimulating the immune system and protecting liver from damage. It acts as a diuretic and has antiviral properties. It can be consumed in food in the form of soup or can be used for cooking rice.

One ounce of this herb can be mixed in one pint of water in a pan. Boil and simmer for one to two hours. Strain it and use the water for cooking purpose. It is also used for sweetening the food.


St. John’s Wort
