Chamomile

Flower extract of German chamomile is beneficial for the treatment of anxiety. It is helpful in providing relaxation and calming the nerves. The herb is effective in reducing stress and anxiety. It is a natural herbal remedy that is useful for reducing sleep problems. Chamomile is available in the form of tea, capsule, cream, tincture or liquid extract.

Consume four hundred to sixteen hundred milligrams of chamomile divided in different doses on daily basis. One to four millilitres of chamomile in liquid extract can be consumed for three times in a day. Consume it in the form of tincture as fifteen millilitres for three to four times in a day. Prepare chamomile tea and consume it as one to four cups per day.


Celery

Eating two cups of celery or onion is beneficial for the treatment of social anxiety. A mixture of both of these is also effective. It can be consumed in the raw or cooked form along with the meals for one or two weeks. Consume it in the form of tea and prepare by mixing one teaspoon of celery seeds in one cup of boiling water. Soak for ten minutes and strain.


Rosemary

The herb is useful in calming the nerves. Tea prepared from this herb is also beneficial. Prepare rosemary tea by soaking one to two teaspoons of the herb in dried form in one cup of boiling water for ten minutes. Inhaling the herb by burning the sprig also has a relaxing effect.


Kava

Root of this herb helps in reducing anxiety. The herb is effective in treating sleep problems as well. Sixty milligrams of kava in the form of capsule can be consumed for three times in a day. It contains kavalactones that help in fighting against anxiety.

It has lesser side effects as compared to other herbs. These include fatigue, vomiting, joint pain, stomach pain, restlessness, appetite loss, liver disorders etc.


Valerian

Root of this herb helps in promoting relaxation. It is also beneficial for reducing anxiety and nervousness. Sleep problems are also treated well using this herb. Extract of this herb has calming effect. Having sedative properties, the herb is useful in reducing stress and anxiety.

Consume valerian in the form of capsule as one hundred fifty milligrams for two times in a day. It is helpful in calming the nerves and reducing sleep problems. It contains valeric acid and valepotriates that are useful in fighting against anxiety.


Passionflower

Passionflower is useful in treating anxiety and panic attacks. Extract of passionflower herb has calming effect. It also reduces nervous problems. The herb has sedative properties that are useful for the central nervous system. It reduces the symptoms of anxiety and improves the mood. Forty drops of passionflower in the form of tincture can be mixed in eight ounces of water and can be consumed for three times in a day.

It can also be consumed in the form of tea, one cup for three times in a day. Passionflower tea can be prepared by mixing one tablespoon of dried passionflower in eight ounces of boiling water. Keep for fifteen minutes and strain.


Winter Cherry

The herb is useful in reducing stress and anxiety. It is effective in maintaining an emotional balance. Commonly called as Indian ginseng, the herb is beneficial in the treatment of social anxiety. Winter cherry can be consumed in the form of capsule, tea or tincture.

Consuming fifty to two hundred fifty milligrams of this herb is beneficial for the treatment of social anxiety. Pregnant and nursing women should avoid consuming this herb. Side effects of this herb may include nausea and stomach upset.


Rhodiola Rosea

The herb is beneficial in the treatment of anxiety and stress. It is very useful in reducing depression and stress. It also reduces fatigue and helps in improving mental performance. It can be consumed in the form of capsule, tea and liquid extract. Hundred to three hundred milligrams of this herb can be consumed in the form of capsule. Pregnant and nursing women should avoid using this herb.


Lavender

Kava kava
