15 Remedies For Cystic Acne

Cystic acne is a type of acne that takes weeks and even months for completing the healing process. It causes pain and inflammation of the skin. It is more than just pimple and affects chest, face, back, legs and neck. Cystic acne usually leads to scarring and is more common at teenage. It causes extreme damage to healthy skin.

Hormonal changes and excessive washing of face are some of the reasons behind cystic acne. It is the severe case of acne vulgaris that is very dangerous and causes red lumps over the face. Pregnancy, skin infections and menstruation are some of the factors that affect cystic acne in women. Drinking six to eight glasses of water is beneficial for the treatment of cystic acne. Using natural herbs are effective but one should always consult the doctor before its consumption.

Herbal Remedies For Cystic Acne

Tea Tree Oil

Extract of tea tree oil is effective in the treatment of cystic acne. It has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. For preparing this extract, mix one part of tea tree oil with nine parts of water. Apply this solution over acne spots using cotton ball for two times in a day. Dilute the oil with more water if the skin is very sensitive. Tea tree oil helps in reducing inflammation and bacterial infection caused due to cystic acne.

Another remedy is to mix five drops of tea tree oil with one tablespoon of jojoba oil. Use this remedy for two times in a day for treating pimples and acne. Dilute one drop of tea tree oil in twenty drops of almond oil and use this solution for two times in a day over the infected area.

Apple Cider Vinegar

It helps in making the pH of skin stabilized and can be used as a toner. Use apple cider vinegar by mixing it in water and apply over the skin. It can also be used in combination with green tea. Make a solution by mixing two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in one glass of water. This solution is beneficial for healing cystic acne.

Aloe Vera

Juice prepared from aloe vera is helpful in increasing the recovery speed of cystic acne. It has anti-inflammatory properties that help in healing skin wounds and scars. It can also be used in the form of gel or lotion. It cleanses the skin and removes toxic materials. Mix aloe vera with honey and apply over the infected skin. This remedy helps in reducing the symptoms of cystic acne.

Echinacea

The herb is very effective in the treatment of cystic acne. It has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce inflammation. Root of this herb is used for medicinal purposes. Consuming five hundred milligrams of dried root of this herb in the form of tablet for three times in a day is very useful.

Green Tea

Green tea is useful for lowering hormonal levels that is beneficial in pumping up the sebum production. It helps in regulation of the oil produced from sebaceous gland. Consume this tea for up to six cups in a day.

Chasteberry

One hundred sixty milligrams of this herb is useful for treating cystic acne. The herb can be used both in the form of liquid and solid extract. It is also available in the form of capsule and tablet. It can also be used as a supplement for treating acne.

Oregon Grape Root

Root and stem of the bark of this herb have medicinal properties and are useful for the treatment of cystic acne. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties that are helpful for curing skin problems. Pregnant women should not consume this herb.

Calendula

The herb has healing properties and can be used for two times in a day. It helps in reducing inflammation and irritation caused to the skin. It has anti-fungal properties that help in healing the wounds. The herb can be used internally as well as externally. Dried petals of this herb are effective in the treatment of cystic acne. Burdock

Root of this herb helps in detoxification of the skin. A good remedy for treating acne is to take burdock root capsules with a glass of water for three times in a day before meals. It can also be used for topical medication using burdock root extract with a cotton ball. Children under the age of fifteen and pregnant women should avoid using this remedy. Consult the doctor before consuming this herb.

Sarsaparilla

The herb has cleansing property and helps in normalizing the hormones. It can also be used in combination with other herbs. Prepare herbal tea by using equal quantities of sarsaparilla, burdock, yellow dock and cleavers. The tea is helpful in the treatment of cystic acne.

Neem

Oil prepared from neem is effective in curing cystic acne. Paste prepared from neem leaves is useful for treating acne. It is a natural cleanser and acts as a toner. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.Another herbal remedy is to make a paste of turmeric and neem. Apply this paste over the face and keep as such for ten to fifteen minutes. Wash the face with cold water.

Dandelion

The herb helps in balancing the hormones and purifying the blood. It can be consumed internally. Use leaves and roots of this herb as salad and consume in food.

Cinnamon

Make a combination of one teaspoon of cinnamon powder with three teaspoons of honey and apply over the acne spots. Using honey with cinnamon is a very popular remedy and is effective in treating cystic acne quickly.

Turmeric

Mix turmeric powder with honey and lime juice that helps in treating the cystic acne naturally.

Lavender

Lotion prepared from lavender is helpful in the treatment of cystic acne. It helps in fighting against infections caused by bacteria. The herb helps in reducing inflammation and skin irritation.
