5 Remedies For Myopia

Commonly myopia is called nearsightedness or short sightedness and is the reason for you to wear spectacles all your life if detected with an impaired vision. Myopia is a condition where the refracted light does not fall directly on the lens causing objects that are far away to look blurred and hazy.

Herbs are not effective to repair the damaged shape of the eye but benefit in protecting the eye cells, reduce the strain and improve blood circulation in the eye.


Effective Herbal Remedies For Myopia

Bilberry

This is a close relative of blueberry seeds and is a rich source of anthocyanosides. Bilberry seeds when administered three times a week will be effective in improving the night vision.

The mode of action of these small wonder seeds is that they contribute to the blood vessel count of the eyes and thus increase the oxygen supply. This treatment is effective in myopic eye condition and cataract. Not more than 2/3 cup of bilberry extract is advised to get healthy eyes.


Triphala

This is a magical Indian potion that cures multiple disorders not only related to eye. As the name suggests it is a mixture of three herbs namely: harad, Indian gooseberry and bahera.

These three ingredients mixed in a correct ration and taken with ghee of  cow milk are the most effective antioxidants that soothe the affected eyes and also repair the digestive system. It can also be applied directly on the eyes by mixing one tea spoon of Triphala powder in two cups of water. The remaining can be ingested for better and faster results.

 


Endive

This herb has proven most effective in curing nearsightedness. It is commonly called chicory and is found in abundance all over the globe. Endive is a resource of vitamin A and improves and maintains the health of eyes.

Usually for this drug to show noticeable effects on the myopic condition, it is taken in combination with carrot juices, celery and parsley juice. This gives a four times better result as it repairs the damaged eye muscles and augments the vision. The ratio in which it displays best results is 1/3 endive with 2/3 celery with ½ cup parsley juice.


Grape Seed

Along with being an herbal remedy this falls under the category of home remedy for myopia. Grape seed is a rich source of antioxidants in it very active form.

This property benefits our eyes to get more oxygen supply and repair the damaged eye muscles. Grape seeds are effective in improving the vision to see objects that are far away. But this herb has side effects like blood thinning and needs to be taken under the supervision of a doctor.


Horsetail

This is the last of the top five herbs that treat myopia. The scientific name of this herb is Equisetum arvense and is known for its anti inflammatory property.

Inflation when once reduced helps in prolonging the beginning of myopic condition. Thus more than a cautionary treatment this herb plays a role in precaution. Direct consumption is not advised but eye patches soaked in horsetails decoction serve the purpose.
