A scraped or worn area on the skin due to some friction is known as abrasion. Children are very much affected by abrasion, mostly occurring on their knees while playing. Abrasion occurs due to scratching mostly while sleeping, any kind of accidents, sores etc.
Reddening of the skin, appearance of rashes, pain, swelling, burning sensation and bleeding are some of the symptoms of abrasions. You can get rid of abrasion by using some herbs.
Herbs For Abrasions
Aloe Vera
Take some pieces of aloe vera and rub them gently over the affected area. You should do this 3-4 times every day. You can also take out some aloe vera gel from a fresh aloe plant and apply it directly on the affected area using some cotton balls or add few drops of aloe vera gel to a cup of water soak some cotton balls in the solution and then apply it on the affected area.
Massage gently for 10-15 minutes and do this at least 3 times every day. Aloe vera provides a cooling effect and also helps to get rid of abrasions because it has great healing properties.
Calendula
Take some calendula petals in a cup of water. After that heat the solution and let it boil. Allow the solution to cool and come down to room temperature. Then apply it on the affected area by dipping some cotton balls in it.
You can also rub some calendula petals directly on the affected area as it will be very effective in healing the abrasions. Do this 2-3 times every day to stop the bleeding and thus to get rid of abrasions.
Clove Oil
Take some clove oil and mix it with some olive oil and dilute it or you can also dilute it by adding few drops of clove oil to a cup of water. Then take some cotton balls and add few drops of the oil or soak it in the cup and then apply it on the affected area gently.
Do this at least 2 times every day as clove oil is very effective in preventing the infections and thus getting rid of abrasions.
Lavender Oil
Take some lavender oil on a cotton ball and then apply it on the affected area. You can also apply cold water and a few drops of lavender oil to the affected areas.
Then massage well and keep it like that for some time at least 15 minutes. Do this 2-3 times every day to get rid of abrasions within a short time.
Slippery Elm Bark
Slippery elm bark is very effective in treating abrasions. Take some slippery elm bark and put it in a cup of warm water. Heat it for some time and then let it boil for at least 25 minutes.
Then allow it to cool down. After this, apply the solution on the affected skin and wash it well with this solution. You can also soak some cotton balls in the solution and then apply it on the affected area. Do this at least 3 times every day to get a soothing effect and to get rid of abrasions fast.
So getting rid of abrasions is not that difficult and by using the above mentioned herbs you can easily get good results within a very short time.
