5 Herbs For Knee Injury

Any injury to the muscles and tendons which help the knee joints to move leads to a knee injury. Tearing of ligaments, cartilages and tendons are very common types of knee injuries. Twisting, stretching, improper movements, sudden fall or collision, too much force causes knee injury.

Pain and swelling of the knee are the most common symptoms of knee injury. Other than these, inflammation and difficulty in bending the knees are the other symptoms. You can get rid of knee injury easily by using some herbs.


Herbs For Knee Injury

Turmeric

Have 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder with a glass of warm water or milk every day. Take some turmeric in a cup containing some olive oil. Mix them well and then heat the mixture for some time (5 minutes).

Then with some cotton balls apply it on the affected area and massage gently. Then keep it like that for 30 minutes. You can also use the mixture as a hot compress by applying it on the affected area using a cotton cloth.


Ginger

Peel and slice a fresh ginger and have it with your meal. Take a small ginger root, peel the skin, and slice the root into small pieces. Then place these pieces in a small cup of boiling water and let it steep for sometime (15 minutes). Then strain it and drink it or pour the tea in a large basin and soak the affected area in it.

You should do this 2-3 times every day as it is very effective in treating knee injury. You can also take ginger supplements but before that you should consult a doctor. Using ginger oil as a hot compress is also an effective method of getting rid of the pain associated with the knee injury.


Neem

Take some neem leaves, grind them well and then add some water and make a paste. Then apply this paste on the affected area. You can also take some neem oil and apply it on the injured knee. Massage well and keep it like that for 30 minutes and then wash it off.

You can also add few drops of neem oil to your bath water and take a shower with it at least 2 times every day. Neem because of its anti-bacterial properties will help to heal the affected area very fast.


Willow Bark

Take a cup of water, heat it and when it starts to boil, add some (1-2 teaspoons) dried willow bark to it. After that steep it for 25-30 minutes, strain it and then using a cotton cloth apply it on the injured knee as a hot compress. Do this at least 2 times every day.


Calendula

Take 2 teaspoons of calendula petals in 1 cup of water. After that heat the solution and let it boil. After that apply it on the affected area by dipping some cotton balls in it. You can also wash your injured knee with this solution every day at least 2 times.

Rubbing some calendula petals directly on the affected area is also great as it will be very effective in healing the injured knee. Do this 3 times every day.Thus by using the above mentioned herbs you can get rid of knee injury.
