Elbow is the most used part of the body. If there is some problem with your elbow, then you will be restricted from carrying out a number of your regular activities. As this is the most used, it is often the most affected too.

The pain in elbow may happen due to a number of reasons like due to playing games, hitting against any strong object or even due to accident. Elbow pain is often unbearable and you may even not able to lift or fold your hand. The reason for pain may be that the tendons and ligaments of the forearm muscles may be affected.

Best Natural Treatments For Elbow Pain

Ice Compression

The most basic treatment that you can take for elbow pain is the compression using ice. This will help you a great extent to come out from the pain. You have to take a few ice cubes and wrap it in a cotton cloth.

You can then use this to apply compression on the elbow which pains. Ice can numb out the pain and the compression can give great relief. You can carry on this compression for almost 15 to 20 minutes, and you can do this twice a day for effective results.

Cabbage Leaves

The elbow that pains may be due to inflammation of the bones. To reduce this, you can externally moisturize it. This can be done using cabbage leaves. Take a complete cabbage leaf and soak it in water for some time, say 30 minutes. You can than place it on the elbow bone and tie it with a cotton cloth. This will help in pain reduction and also reduce the inflammation.

Broccoli Wrap For Elbow Pain

You can also find the treatment for inflammation using broccoli. You have to boil the vegetable for some time, after which you have to filter the water and smash it completely. You can then apply that paste on the affected elbow.

You can then wrap it up with a cloth. This wrap can be left as is for a few hours. This is also found to be an effective treatment against elbow pain. You can also use mashed potato instead of broccoli.

Ginger Tea For Reducing Inflammation

Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties, which can be used to treat against elbow pain. You can prepare this by adding cut ginger in water and leave it to boil completely. You can then filter it off and add a spoon of honey to it. You can take this drink in a small cup at least 2 or 3 times per day.

Turmeric

Turmeric is also a very popular anti-inflammation agent. You can make a paste of the turmeric power and apply it on the elbow. You can also wrap it with wet cotton cloth. This will help in retaining the moisture in turmeric and hence will enhance its absorption. Elbow pain is a common occurrence, especially in sports person, and do not confuse it with fracture or joint dislocation. You can treat it with simple treatments.
