Herbal Remedies For Type 2 Diabetes

Orange Peel, Sarsaparilla, Morning Carob And Suma Root

Mix a few whole cloves with one tsp. of bitter orange peel juice, one tbsp. of chopped sarsaparilla root, one tbsp. of roasted cut Morning Carob and one tbsp. of Suma root. Put al these ingredients in two glasses of cold water and cover the container tightly.

Boil the mixture at low heat and let the herbs simmer for half an hour. Drink this herbal tea while it is still a little warm. The interesting thing is that the tea tastes sweet and delicious, but it can be very effective in controlling blood sugar spikes.


Stevia Leaves With Lemon Verbena

Mix equal quantities of lemon verbena and stevia leaves together and grind it thoroughly until the mixture turns into powdered form. Store it in a tightly covered jar. Now, every time you have to use this herbal remedy, steep ¼ tsp. of the mixture in one cup of boiling water. Filter the liquid and drink it once daily.


Spicy Blood Tonic

When it comes to stabilizing blood sugar levels, you can prepare a wonderful spicy blood tonic by mixing ½ tbsp. of nettle root, ½ tbsp. of sarsaparilla bark, 1 tbsp. of hawthorn berries, 1 tsp. of dried orange peel and 2 tbsp. of cinnamon chips in two glasses of cold water. Use a non-reactive pan to prepare this herbal tonic for diabetes. Cover the pan tightly and boil it at low heat. Let the herbs steep in water for half an hour. You can either filter the liquid or leave the mixture for ten minutes so that the remains sit at the bottom. Drink this spicy tea while it is still warm. It increases blood circulation and reduces blood sugar level.


Hyssop Tea

Mix some hyssop plants with water in a closed container. Brew it at low heat for 30-45 minutes. Drink two to three cups of hyssop tea everyday. Besides lowering blood sugar level, this herbal remedy also keeps flu and allergies at bay.


Gymnema Leaves

You can take up to 400 mg of the extracts of gymnema leaves in capsule form once daily. Alternatively, steep 400 mg of gymnema leaves in boiling water for half an hour. Filter the liquid. Take the resulting gymnema leaf tea once daily.


Fenugreek Seeds

You can take the extracts of fenugreek seeds directly, up to one ounce, once daily. But, considering the fact that the seeds taste severely bitter, you are advised to take it in capsule form.


Bitter Melon Fruit

Consume one or two bitter melon fruits daily consistently for four weeks. Leave a gap of four weeks. Then, repeat the remedy. Instead of eating the whole fruit, you can also drink its juice or take it in the form of tincture. Blood sugar patients can get better result when bitter melon fruit is taken with the gymenema leaf tea.

Considering the very fact that type 2 diabetes can lead to other serious ailments, you are advised to consult your doctor before you try any herbal remedy, especially if you are trying it for the first time.
